Fake Problems formed in Cape Cod, Massachusetts in 2003 with Chris Farren on vocals and guitar, Matt Catania on guitar, Derek Perry on bass, and Adam Pierce on drums. Their debut album 'Trapped in a World' came out in 2007, followed by 'It's Cold Outside' in 2008, which included the song 'Too Cold To Hold.'

In 2010, Derek Perry left the band and was replaced by Aryeh Kunstler. They put out three more albums: 'Real Ghosts Caught on Tape' in 2011, 'Heaven' in 2013, and 'Late Bloomer' in 2015 before disbanding that same year.

Their sound drew from punk, indie rock, and folk, with songs like '1234' and 'Born & Raised' showing their range. They were sometimes compared to bands like The Replacements and Guided by Voices.
