Falange Supernova formed in Salvador, Brazil around 2008, with multi-instrumentalist Júlio César and guitarist Maurício Luz at the core. They put out their first album 'Cosmogonia' in 2012, followed by 'Palimpsesto' in 2016 and 'Olimpus' in 2021.
Their music pulls from Brazilian folk rhythms, psychedelic rock, and ambient electronics. The song 'Deixa Ver' became something of an alternative anthem for them, and other tracks like 'Utopia' and 'Tudo Tão Normal' show their range.
The lineup has included bassist Mariana Andrade and drummer Bruno Zambelli alongside the founders. They've kept at their particular blend of sounds, which can be introspective and a bit out there, without much concern for whether it fits conventional molds.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
