Fallanji

Fallanji is a band built around the voice and piano of Agnes Obel, with Frederik Sioen on guitar and electronics and Andreas Fuglebæk on drums. Their sound tends toward the atmospheric, with Obel's vocals often described as ethereal over minimalist arrangements. They released their debut album 'Aventine' in 2013.

That same year, the song 'Agnes' became their breakout single. Its haunting melody and the repeated line 'Agnes, are you still alive?' connected with listeners, establishing a mood of quiet longing that became a hallmark of their work. They followed with 'Citizen of Glass' in 2016 and 'Philharmonics' in 2019, the latter recorded with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra.

Their music has drawn a dedicated audience, though it has also sparked debate among critics. The band's particular blend of delicate vocals and sparse, sometimes unsettling instrumentation seems to either deeply resonate or leave listeners cold, with little middle ground.
