Fallo a Favor formed in Mexico City in 2001 with four members: vocalist and guitarist Enrique "Quique" Rangel, bassist Gonzalo "Gonzo" Gutiérrez, drummer Osvaldo "Ova" Rodríguez, and guitarist Luis "Lucho" Ortega. They started playing local bars and clubs, working to build an audience.
Their 2003 debut album "Cuando la Tierra Se Pone Roja" included the single "Antes de Tu Piel," which got radio play and helped them reach more listeners. They went on to release several more albums, including "No Hay Salida" in 2006, "Respirar" in 2008, and "Canciones de Amor y de Muerte" in 2011.
At some point, the band collaborated with other artists like Lila Downs, Julieta Venegas, and Los Tigres del Norte. In 2012, a concert in Guadalajara was stopped after complaints about their performance.
