Falsos Anjos

Falsos Anjos formed in 1995, with Emma Santos on vocals and Pedro Silva on guitar. They had trouble finding a steady bassist and drummer at first, which made those early years a bit of a scramble. The band's debut album came out in 1998, titled 'Luzes Cores' after its lead track. That song, with Santos's distinctive voice driving it, caught on and gave the group some real momentum.

Their sound had a rough, grungy edge to it, but there was room for quieter, more reflective moments too. You can hear that mix on tracks like 'Anjo Pintado' and 'Corte na Alma'. Santos's lyrics and stage presence could be divisive, drawing both strong praise and criticism. The band kept putting out records anyway, including 'Sombras e Silêncios' in 2001 and 'Vício de Viver' in 2004.

Later albums like 'O Último Ato' and 'Memórias do Passado' came out in 2008 and 2013. The lineup eventually settled with João Oliveira on bass and Ricardo Costa on drums. While 'Luzes Cores' stayed their best-known song, other tracks like 'Corro' and 'Da Sarjeta para o Mundo' filled out their catalog.
