Família 33

Família 33 formed in Rio de Janeiro around 2010, starting with Thiago Pantaleão on vocals, Lucas Penteado on vocals, Samuel Luz on bass, Rafael Rocha on guitar, and Filipe Fernandes on drums. They put out their self-titled album in 2014, but it was the 2015 single 'Um Depois de Vários (Parte II)' that broke through, becoming a viral hit in Brazil.

That success came with some internal friction. Penteado, who co-wrote and performed on the track, later claimed he wasn't properly compensated for it. The group kept moving, though, expanding into more of a collective with additional musicians, dancers, and visual artists joining the fold.

Their sound pulls from samba, funk, hip-hop, and electronic music, heard on tracks like 'Os Potes Premiados' and 'Na Hora Dos Pipoco'. They've worked with artists like funk singer Neguinho da Beija-Flor and rapper MV Bill. Later albums include 'Antes do Encontro' in 2016, 'Depois do Baile' in 2018, and '33' in 2020.
