Rogério Leal, who leads the group, wrote the lyrics for 'Cinderela da Quebra.' He and a childhood friend named Péricles started making music together in Rio de Janeiro. Their other songs include 'Clichê' and 'Fé Na Caminhada.'
Some critics argued that Familia DEMMP's music might glamorize hardship. Leal and the group pushed back, saying they wanted to uplift people instead. Their work kept addressing social issues after that first single took off.
