Família Nascimento

Família Nascimento formed in Rio de Janeiro during the 1970s, with Ivone Lara as the matriarch and primary songwriter. The group included her children Aracy, Zé Renato, and Marisa Monte. Their debut album "Família" came out in 1975, followed by records like "Quinto Tempo" in 1980 and "Caminhando Contra o Vento" in 1984.

Their song "A Dose Mais Forte" became particularly well-known, and they recorded other tracks like "A Glória De Deus Vai Descer" and "Advogado Fiel." Their lyrics often addressed social themes, which sometimes drew criticism from authorities who accused them of promoting certain political views.

They kept recording through the 1990s, putting out another self-titled album in 1994.
