Farago Johnny

Farago Johnny was a Parisian band active around the late 1970s and early 1980s. They released three studio albums, starting with their debut 'Chérie, Je M'En Souviens' in 1980, which included the title track that became something of an anthem at the time. The group was led by Jean-Luc Godard on vocals and guitar, and their lineup included bassist Jean-Jacques Burnel, who had previously worked with Serge Gainsbourg.

Their sound was an eclectic mix that drew from rock, pop, and electronic music, creating a somewhat atmospheric feel. Beyond 'Chérie, Je M'En Souviens', other songs like 'Du Soleil' and 'J'ai Ta Photo Dans Ma Chambre' show their range from melancholic ballads to more straightforward pop. They followed their debut with 'La Vie En Rose' in 1982 and 'La Nuit Bleue' in 1984.

The band's work, particularly Godard's poetic lyrics, dealt with themes of love, memory, and a kind of existential searching. While they had some commercial success with their first album, maintaining a stable lineup proved difficult, and their activity was relatively brief.
