Farah formed in London in 2005 with Marissa Farah on vocals, Ethan James on guitar, Oliver Reed on bass, and Matthew Scott on drums. Their debut album 'Bloom' came out in 2007, featuring the single 'Dancing Girls' which helped bring them wider attention.
They released three more albums over the next decade: 'Echoes' in 2010, 'Reverie' in 2013, and 'Ascension' in 2017. Their songs like 'Gay Boy' and 'The Only Ones' show a mix of rock and pop elements, with Marissa Farah's vocals as a central feature.
In 2012, the band faced plagiarism accusations regarding one of their songs, which they denied and eventually resolved.
