Fares Karam was born in 1973 in Kfar Shuba, a village in Lebanon. He started singing at local gatherings and festivals, drawing from the traditional Lebanese music he grew up with. In 1996, his debut album 'Sahrit el Ayam' came out, featuring the song 'El Tanoura' that became a hit across the Middle East.
He kept releasing albums through the 2000s, including 'Meshtaq' in 1998, 'Layali el Ward' in 2001, and 'Baheb' in 2003. Other songs like 'Neswanji' and 'Shefta' also found their audience. Karam worked with other Lebanese singers like Elissa, Najwa Karam, and Assi El Helani.
In 2004, he was arrested on drug possession charges, which complicated his career for a time. He continued putting out music afterward, with albums like 'Ya Rayt' in 2007 and 'El Hawa Sultani' in 2013.
