Fargo

Fargo started as a quartet from the Midwest, with brothers Joe and Jake VanAllen playing music in their parents' basement in Fargo, North Dakota. They were joined by guitarist Adam Roloff and drummer Dan Carr. Their debut EP came out in 2003, and they later signed with Saddle Creek Records, releasing their first full album 'The Absent Years' in 2005.

Their songs like 'Round About Way Of Describing Our Situation' and 'A Castle In Wales' had an atmospheric quality that drew listeners in. The band's 2007 Coachella set was cut short by festival organizers after reports of offensive language onstage.

Fargo kept making music that didn't fit neatly into categories, with tracks like 'I See It Now' and 'Lady Goodbye' showing their preference for mood over conventional rock structures. They worked quietly, letting the songs speak for themselves rather than chasing trends or explanations.
