In the 1990s, he released albums that resonated with Afghans, and after returning to Afghanistan in 2001, he became a celebrated musician there. His song 'Aa Dilbar' gained attention as an anthem of hope for Afghans abroad. Other tracks like 'Afghanistan' and 'Aroos Aftaow' are part of his catalog.
