Archive material and source history

Farinha Trigha formed in Porto, Portugal in the late 1970s, taking their name from the Portuguese phrase for "Three-Wheat Flour." They were led by vocalist Rui "Tóni" Pintéus and built a reputation on raw, energetic live shows. Their song "Arranca a Moto Jalopín" became something of an anthem for them.

Their lyrics often contained profanity and social commentary, which drew criticism from conservative authorities at the time. Despite facing some censorship, they maintained a defiant presence and developed a cult following. Other songs in their catalog include "Caghei Por Min" and "Sentinela."

The band released several albums, starting with their self-titled record in 1979, followed by "Sabe Bem" in 1982, "Ciclone" in 1984, and "A Mosca" in 1986. Their sound incorporated elements of rock and traditional Portuguese music alongside their punk foundation. The core lineup included Pintéus on vocals, João "Lelo" Paredes on guitar, José "Zé" Cruz on bass, and João "Zeke" Muñoz on drums.
