Faroeste formed in São Paulo in 1981, with guitarist Fernando Birner, bassist Anderson Régis, and drummer Paulo "Bala" Prodócimo. They were part of Brazil's early heavy metal scene, drawing from British bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. Their first album, "Feroz e Leal," came out in 1984.
Guilherme de Souza joined as vocalist in 1989, around the time of their third album, "Noite Sangrenta." They kept recording through the 1990s and 2000s, with albums like "Armadura" and "Anjos e Demônios." Some of their other songs include "Bando De Dois (Mil)" and "Incessante."
They built a following among fans who connected with that directness in their music.
