Farol Cego

Farol Cego formed in 2012 with Thiago Guimarães on vocals and guitar, Frederico Demarco on bass, and Francisco Rocha on drums. They started putting out music a couple of years later, with a debut EP in 2014 called 'Olhando para o Céu.' Their sound pulls from alternative rock and post-hardcore, with a raw, introspective feel that connects with listeners. The song 'Catarse' became a kind of anthem for them, giving the band a focal point and lending its name to their 2017 album.

Their lyrics often deal with heavy themes like mental health and existential struggle, which has drawn both a dedicated audience and some criticism. The band has said they're trying to give voice to feelings of isolation, not glorify them. You can hear that tension in tracks like 'Dói // Cai' and 'Meus Sapatos Também Estão Falando,' where the music feels urgent and the delivery is direct.

They followed 'Catarse' with another album in 2019, 'Constela,' continuing in a similar vein. The music stays grounded in that emotional, guitar-driven space, avoiding big production flourishes for something more immediate.
