Farra de Boyzinho came out of São Paulo in the early 1990s, mixing funk carioca with rap and samba. Their track 'Sabe de Nada Inocente' became a hit in 1994, connecting with a lot of young listeners in Brazil at the time.
The group included MC Leonardo on vocals, Fernandinho Beatbox, and DJs Maluco and Boy. Their lyrics often dealt with social issues and authority, which drew both fans and criticism. In 1995, MC Leonardo was arrested on drug charges, but the band kept going and put out another album, 'Batendo Forte', the next year.
They released several albums through the late '90s, like 'O Baile Ficou Louco' in 1997 and '4 Anos de História' in 1998.
