Farside

Farside was an alternative rock band that released four albums between 1995 and 2004. Their debut album came out in 1995, followed by 'How Do You Sleep?' in 1997, 'The Fourth Estate' in 2001, and 'Right as Rain' in 2004. The band consisted of Ian Kenny on vocals and guitar, Aidan Walsh on drums, and Darren Flynn on bass.

Their song 'I'm Not Shy, I Just Don't Like You' became their breakout single. Other tracks like 'I Hope You're Unhappy,' 'Audience,' and 'Better than Crying' show their tendency toward direct, sometimes confrontational titles that match the straightforward quality of their music.

Their albums moved from the raw sound of their debut toward more polished production on later releases. 'The Fourth Estate' in particular took on political themes, while 'Right as Rain' returned to more personal subject matter. The band's relationship with their record label was reportedly difficult at times.

Farside's music blended elements of alternative rock with indie and folk influences, though they never fit neatly into any single category. Their songs maintained a consistent focus on emotional directness and melodic accessibility throughout their recording years.
