Archive material and source history
Fase 3 formed in Buenos Aires in the mid-1990s around guitarist and vocalist Marcelo "Pepo" Cazzola. They started playing together in a small studio, drawn to blues and rock. Their debut album came out in 1997, titled after the song "Amor Blues Rock," which got some radio play in Argentina.
That early sound was built on straightforward blues-rock, but they kept recording. By 2000 they put out "Blues para un Tiempo Perdido," and a few years later "Mundo Nuevo" brought in some Latin rhythms. Other songs from their catalog include "De Repente" and "Medo de Te Perder."
The band's lineup shifted over time, with Cazzola and drummer Hernán Molina staying constant through the changes. They played live with a fair amount of energy, which helped build a local following in Argentina during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
