Fast UKK7

Fast UKK7 formed in 1997 in Guarulhos, São Paulo. Their name comes from the Portuguese acronym for Strength, Unity, Combat, Consciousness, which gives you a sense of what they were about from the start. They worked in a mix of hip-hop, samba, and rock, and one of their songs, 'Meu País,' became something of an anthem for social justice in Brazil.

They released albums like 'O Passo do Gigante,' 'Nós Somos a Fúria,' and 'Resistência.' Their outspoken lyrics sometimes drew criticism from conservative politicians and media, but they kept at it. They collaborated with artists including Chuck D from Public Enemy, Zack de la Rocha from Rage Against the Machine, and Manu Chao.
