Fastway started in 1982 when "Fast" Eddie Clarke left Motörhead and teamed up with UFO bassist Pete Way. They put out their first album the next year, followed by records like All Fired Up and Say What You Will. The title track from that 1987 album became one of their better-known songs, along with "If You Could See" and "Trick Or Treat."

Lineups shifted over time, with Dave King drumming on early material and others like John "Speedy" Keen and Toby Jepson coming through later. Clarke's guitar work stayed at the center, even as the band went through periods of activity and hiatus.

They kept recording into the 1990s, with albums like Bad Bad Girls and Trick or Treat. Eddie Clarke died in 2018, but various versions of the band have played shows since then under the Fastway name.
