Father Time formed in Los Angeles in the late 2000s, with Ilan Rubin on vocals and Josh Klinghoffer on guitar. Rubin had played with Nine Inch Nails and Paramore, while Klinghoffer was coming off his time with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their music pulled from alternative rock and progressive metal, with some electronic textures mixed in.
They released their first album, 'Padre Tiempo,' in 2010. Later records like 'As Above, So Below' in 2013 and 'Ember' in 2016 kept exploring similar territory, with arrangements that could get pretty dense and lyrics that circled around time and what it means to be alive. They put out 'Prism' in 2021.
