Fatos Reais

Fatos Reais came out of Rio de Janeiro with a sound that felt like the city itself. Their early track "Nas Ruas da Cidade" had a raw, street-level energy that caught attention. The band's debut album was called "Sons da Cidade," and they followed it with records like "Realidade" and "Identidade." Their music pulled from rock, rap, and samba, but it never felt like a careful blend, more like what happened when those sounds collided in the same neighborhood.

Gabriel handled vocals, with Rafael on guitar, Pedro on bass, Diego on keyboards, and Lucas on drums. They weren't trying to smooth things out. Songs like "O crime nunca mais" and "Terror no Carandiru" dealt directly with urban life, and that directness sometimes drew criticism from listeners who preferred their music less confrontational. The band kept working anyway, playing with a kind of stubborn consistency.

Their catalog doesn't trace a neat arc toward polish. It's more like different angles on the same city, sometimes rhythmic, sometimes blunt, often both. They made music that felt anchored to place, even when that place was complicated.
