Faulhaber

Faulhaber formed in Barcelona around 2004, started by Nicolau Font on vocals and guitar and Santi Careta on drums. They later added Arnau Obiols on bass and Martí Serra on keyboards. Their first album, simply called 'Faulhaber', came out in 2009, followed by 'Impasse' in 2012 and 'Naturaleza Muerta' in 2017.

Their songs like 'Faulhaber' and 'Go Ahead Now' tend to build slowly, with arrangements that feel more deliberate than flashy. The music pulls from different places, some post-punk edges, some experimental rock textures, a little classical structure, but it usually settles into its own patient, winding kind of sound.

They've never been an easy band to pin down. Critics have sometimes called them pretentious or too obscure, while others have praised the same albums. They mostly just keep working on their own terms, letting the songs unfold at their own pace without much concern for fitting in.
