Fausto Cigliani was a singer from Naples who became known for one particular song. In 1981, he released "Che Mm' E' Diciste a Fa'," which became a local hit in Naples. The song was written by his friend Salvatore Massa and tells the story of a man confronting his lover's new partner.
Before that, Cigliani had been performing with the band Napoli Centrale in the late 1970s. The group mixed traditional Neapolitan music with rock elements. He was born in Naples in 1951 and grew up around the city's music.
After "Che Mm' E' Diciste a Fa'," Cigliani kept recording. He put out albums like "Notte e Giorno" in 1983 and "Nuvole e Stelle" in 1985. Another song of his, "Souvenir d'Italie," appears among his most recognized work.
