Fausto Paranhos was born in Santos in 1953 and started playing music in the mid-1970s. His self-titled debut album came out in 1978 with the song "Procurei," which became an immediate hit in Brazil.
He kept recording through the 1980s and 1990s, putting out albums like "Doce Vida" in 1985 and "Noite Afora" in 1992.
He worked with musicians including guitarist Guto Brinho, bassist Luiz Pacci, and drummer Franklin Baptista. Paranhos recorded an acoustic album in 1998 and continued writing until his death.
