Fauve

Fauve was a French band that formed in the Paris suburbs around 2010. They had six members: Quentin Capron on vocals, Nicolas Julian and Martin Matacchione on guitars and vocals, Stéphane Muraire on drums, François-Marie Banier on bass, and Jonathan Fitoussi on keyboards. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2013, mixing folk and electronic sounds with lyrics that felt personal and direct.

Capron's writing often dealt with subjects like love, loss, and the messiness of being young. Songs like 'Haut Les Cœurs' and 'Jeunesse talking blues' had a raw, conversational quality that connected with listeners. The band didn't stick to traditional song structures, letting things unfold more loosely, which gave their music an immediate, almost improvised feel.

They released a few more records after that first album, including the two-part 'Vieux Frères' in 2014 and 'Capitale' in 2016. Tracks like '4.000 Îles' and 'Les Hautes Lumières' kept that same intimate, searching tone. The band called it quits in 2015, not long after their last album came together.
