Fauzer Zaidan

Fauzer Zaidan was the frontman of Supertramp, the band that had its biggest success with 1979's 'Breakfast in America.' That album included songs like 'The Logical Song' and 'Take the Long Way Home.' The existing history mentions he was born in Egypt and raised in England, and that he joined with Rick Davies and Dave Winthrop to form the band in 1969.

Supertramp's sound came together with the addition of Bob Siebenberg on percussion and John Helliwell on saxophone. Their earlier albums included 'Crime of the Century' in 1974 and 'Even in the Quietest Moments' in 1977. The top songs list includes covers like 'English Man In New York' and 'Sailing,' which suggest a later or solo phase of work.

Some critics found their lyrics pessimistic or overly intellectual, but Zaidan kept writing in that style. The band released albums into the mid-1980s, including 'Famous Last Words' in 1982 and 'Brother Where You Bound' in 1985.
