Fazer was a band that formed in the late 1970s, with Gary Numan as the frontman. They released several albums including 'Replicant' and 'The Pleasure Principle' in 1981, followed by 'Warriors' in 1983. Their single 'Killer' came out in 1981 and became their most recognizable track.
Numan's vocals and songwriting defined much of their sound, with Paul Gardiner on bass and Chris Payne on drums. The band's music often dealt with themes of isolation and technology, which was reflected in songs like 'Cars' and 'Are 'Friends' Electric?' from 1979.
They faced some legal issues around sampling, particularly with 'Killer', and Numan's personal struggles were part of the band's story during their active years. After the mid-1980s, their output slowed as Numan focused on his solo career.
