Feff formed in 2003 around British singer-songwriter Robert Feffer, with guitarist Mark West, bassist Simon Clayton, and drummer Matt Taylor. Their debut EP 'Oceans' came out that year, and they followed it with the 2005 album 'Hope/Despair.' The lead single from that record, 'Return to Grey,' got them some attention and an Ivor Novello Award nomination for Best Song.
They put out three more albums over the next decade: 'Flood' in 2007, 'The Colour Everywhere' in 2011, and 'Afterglow' in 2015. Their music occasionally turned up in films and TV shows.
In 2007, there was some noise about their song 'Starlight' sounding similar to The Killers' 'Mr. Brightside,' but it didn't seem to change much about how they worked. The core lineup stayed pretty steady through those years.
