José Cid handled the songwriting and arrangements, while Carlos Mendes was the vocalist. Their partnership didn't last, and creative differences between them led to the duo splitting up.

Some of their lyrics touched on social themes, which was notable given the political climate in Portugal during the Salazar regime. Other songs in their catalog include "Fim de Madrugada" and "Abraço de Saudade."
