Background notes

Archive material and source history

F.E.P.A. The band started with two musicians: Eduardo "Wally" Barrionuevo, who wrote lyrics and sang, and Hugo "Tato" Gentile on guitar. Their music was shaped by that political climate, and they faced government pressure for what authorities considered subversive content.

They released their first album, "Resistencia," in 1978. Later records like "Tiempos de Cambio" and "Revolución" mixed rock with Argentine folk traditions. Some of their songs include "Repara," "Depois de Um Café," and "Garoto Louco."

The group's sound drew from folk singers like Mercedes Sosa and Víctor Jara, as well as figures from international protest music. Other musicians joined over time, including bassist Juan Carlos "Koki" González and drummer Alejandro "Viejo" Caravallo.
