Fera Livre is a Brazilian rock band that started in Rio de Janeiro during the 1990s. Their music pulls from hard rock and alternative metal, with some Brazilian folk touches mixed in. They put out their first album, also called 'Fera Livre,' in 1996.
In 1998, the band had a breakout hit with 'Novo Amor,' a rock ballad that did well on Brazilian charts. The band pushed back against that interpretation, saying it was really about unrequited love. They've released several more albums since, including 'Sete' in 2002 and 'Coração' in 2007.
The group has seen a few different lineups over time. These days, Rodrigo Santos handles vocals and guitar, Felipe Roseno plays guitar and sings backup, Marcos de Ros is on bass and backing vocals, and Leo Batera plays drums.
