Ferdinando Barros was the lead singer of the Brazilian band Amor Minha Paixão, which formed in 1993 with guitarist Eduardo Lima, bassist Paulo Bahia, and drummer Marcos Paulo. Their music drew from Brazilian rhythms like samba and axé, with songs such as "Amor Minha Paixão" and "Volto Para Sempre" becoming popular. Barros grew up in Salvador, Bahia, where he was influenced by local sounds and artists like Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil.
In 2005, Barros faced plagiarism allegations regarding the song "Amor Minha Paixão," which he denied. The band released albums including Amor Minha Paixão in 1994, Batida do Coração in 1996, and A Vida É Amor in 2010. Other tracks like "Mistério do Amor" and "Puro Amor Com Amor" reflect their focus on love-themed lyrics and melodic pop sensibilities.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
