Ferlin Husky

Ferlin Husky was born in Flat River, Missouri in 1925. He started singing with a traveling gospel group when he was fifteen, and by 1953 he'd signed with Capitol Records. His 1957 recording of 'Wings of a Dove' became his signature song, a hit that defined his career for many listeners.

He had a distinctive vocal style that could shift into a high falsetto, heard on songs like 'There Goes My Everything' and 'Just A Bend Of The Road'. His recordings often featured notable session players like guitarist Grady Martin and steel guitarist Buddy Emmons.

Husky was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He kept performing into his later years and passed away in 2011. Other songs in his catalog include 'Six Days On The Road' and 'Among My Souvenirs'.
