Fernando Júnior was born in Foz do Douro, Portugal in 1966. He started playing music as a teenager, forming a band called A Voz do Povo when he was 15. His first album came out in 1990.
That debut album was called A Sós Contigo, and its title track became a hit in Portugal. He followed it with other albums like Fado do Bem and Voz do Meu Fado. Some of his songs people still know include Deus Fiel and Presença.
In 2005 he was arrested for drunk driving, which caused some trouble for his career at the time. He kept performing after that, and put out another album called Porto Sentido in 2008.
