Ferro na Boneca was a Brazilian rock band formed in São Paulo in the early 1980s by brothers Léo Jaime and Marcelo Nova. Léo handled lead vocals and guitar, while Marcelo played guitar and wrote songs. Their name translates to 'Iron in the Doll,' which hinted at their mix of melodic pop with harder rock edges.
Their 1983 debut album, also called 'Ferro na Boneca,' included the song 'Diga Pra Mim.' That track became a national hit in Brazil, known for its catchy chorus and straightforward lyrics about love. The band followed it with albums like 'Garota do Subúrbio' in 1984 and 'Incendeia' in 1986.
Internal tensions and lineup changes affected the group over time. Lead guitarist Tavito died in a car accident in 1988. Léo Jaime left in 1992 to work solo, and Marcelo Nova kept the band going, though their commercial momentum slowed afterward. Other songs in their catalog include 'Corre Viado,' 'Essência De Amor,' and 'Você Não Me Ensinou A Te Esquecer.'
