Ferruccio Tagliavini was an Italian tenor born in Reggio Emilia in 1913. He made his operatic debut in 1938 in "Rigoletto," after initially studying engineering. His recording of "Parlami D'amore Mariù" became particularly well-known, along with other songs like "Signorinella" and "Che Gelida Manina."
During World War II, he was imprisoned as a political dissenter. After the war, he faced allegations of fascist sympathies that affected his reputation. He recorded complete operas including "Aida" with Maria Callas in 1952 and "Tosca" with Leontyne Price in 1964.
Tagliavini performed in operas like "La Bohème" and "Tosca." His voice was noted for its modulation and emotional delivery. He worked as a solo artist throughout his career.
