Fhernando Fresno came up in Mexico's rock scene around the late 1990s. He formed a band called Fresno in his teens, with drummer Fernando Sotelo and bassist Javier Cuevas. Their debut album 'Suavemente' came out in 2000, followed by 'Mentiras y Secretos' in 2003 and 'La Leyenda' in 2006.
His song 'Asesino' became well-known, and another track called 'Busco Mis Raíces' appears in his catalog. The music drew from punk and grunge, and the lyrics sometimes touched on social themes that drew criticism from conservative groups.
Fresno worked with other Mexican rock musicians like Enrique Bunbury and Zoé. He remained the band's lead vocalist and main songwriter through those years.
