Fichissimi

Fichissimi came together in the late 1980s in Pistoia, Tuscany, a group of friends who started playing shows locally. Their sound mixed ska, punk, and pop, and they built a following through live performances. In 1994, they put out their first album, 'Stati Uniti d'America,' which included the song 'Come Un Tonno.' That track caught on nationally with its catchy melody and clever lyrics.

Their lineup featured Pierpaolo Capovilla on vocals and guitar, Simone Filippi on bass, and Nicola Manzan on drums. They kept recording through the '90s and early 2000s, with albums like 'Viva la Vida' in 1996 and 'Colpo di Stato' in 1998. Other songs like 'Gianni È Un Metallaro' and 'La Ragazza Bruttina' showed their knack for sharp, humorous writing set to upbeat music.

Fichissimi worked with other artists at times, including Manu Chao, Roy Paci, and Vinicio Capossela. Their music had a rebellious edge that sometimes drew criticism, but they maintained a steady output of records that blended social commentary with danceable rhythms.
