Fidei formed in São Paulo in 1985, a Christian band with Cleide Alves on vocals, Elmir Tavares on bass, Togno on drums, and Rogério Leal on guitar. They put out their first album, 'Reunidos Em Grupo de Oração,' in 1987.
Their song 'Reunidos Em Grupo de Oração' became widely known in Christian circles. Other tracks like 'Água-Viva (JO 4; Ap 22,17)' and 'Amigos São Milagres' followed in their catalog.
They released several albums through the 1990s and early 2000s, including 'O Céu Se Abre' in 1990 and 'Entre a Fé e o Mundo' in 2002.
