Fiel a la Vega came together in 1979 in Vallecas, a working-class neighborhood in Madrid. The band included Salvador Domínguez on vocals, José Luis Gutiérrez on guitar, Eduardo Benavente on bass, and Manuel Martínez on drums. Their early shows often met with resistance, but they kept playing, building a following with their raucous sound and lyrics that spoke to frustrations with society.
In 1982 they put out the single "Bla, Bla, Bla," which became an anthem for the disaffected. The song's biting take on political hypocrisy connected with listeners and helped push the band to wider recognition. That same year they released their self-titled debut album.
Fiel a la Vega followed with records like 1984's "La Noche de los Chuchillos Largos." Their catalog also includes songs such as "Al Frente," "En La Vida Todo Es Ir," and "Boricua En La Luna," which carried forward their raw, critical edge without softening their punk stance.
