Fightstar formed in London in 2003 with Charlie Simpson on vocals, Alex Westaway on guitar, Dan Haigh on bass, and Omar Abidi on drums.

They followed up with 'One Day Son, This Will All Be Yours' in 2007 and 'Be Human' in 2009. Keyboardist Matt Beckett joined around 2007, and Abidi left the band in 2012. Songs like 'Fight For Us' and 'Deathcar' show their mix of melodic rock with some heavier edges.

Their sound had that British alternative rock feel without fitting neatly into one category.
