Figures on a Beach formed in Stockholm in 2004 with Marcus Nordenberg on vocals, Anders Bergström on guitar, Johan Bengtsson on bass, and Andreas Lindh on drums. Their debut single "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" came out the following year and found an audience beyond Sweden.
After Bengtsson and Lindh left in 2007, Nordenberg and Bergström kept the band going with new members. They put out the album "Waves" in 2009, which got some positive reviews but didn't match the reach of that first single. The band kept touring and releasing music through the early 2010s.
They released "Resurrection" in 2014, followed by "The Last Dance" in 2018 and "Beyond the Horizon" in 2022. The lineup in later years included Jonas Johansson on bass and Johan Holmberg on drums.
