Archive material and source history
Fiji was a Swedish Eurodance group that formed in 1993 around Johan Egnell, Stefan Dabrowski, and Marie Fredriksson. They signed with Polydor Records in 1996 and released their self-titled debut album the following year. That album included their biggest hit, "Sharing the Night Together," which reached the top of charts in several countries.
Their sound was built around Egnell's lead vocals with backing from Dabrowski and Fredriksson. They followed up with two more albums, 1999's "Wild Dreams" and 2001's "For You," which included songs like "Stone Cold" and "Jowenna (Sweet Hawaiian Girl)."
Marie Fredriksson, who had previously battled cancer, left the group in 2001 to focus on her health. Fiji continued for a few more years before disbanding in 2004.
