Filhos da Marta formed in the 1990s in Rio de Janeiro's Santa Marta neighborhood, where a group of young musicians started playing together. Their debut single "Água de Chocalho" came out in 2002 and became popular in Brazil. The band's music draws from samba, funk, and traditional Brazilian rhythms, creating an energetic sound that includes songs like "Balada de Libertação" and "Blues Azul."
They released albums including "Filhos da Marta" in 2003, "O Céu É Meu Lugar" in 2005, and "Baile Funk do Morro" in 2010.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
