Filipe Dias

Filipe Dias is a Brazilian singer-songwriter who came up in Fortaleza, where he grew up hearing samba and Catholic hymns. He put out his first album, 'Encontro Com Cristo,' in 1996. That title track and others like 'Verdade de Cristo' and 'Seu Amor' connected with listeners in Brazil and elsewhere.

His music often works in pop and worship styles. He's recorded albums such as 'Tudo É Dele' in 1998, 'Meu Lugar' in 2001, and 'Fazenda Paraíso' in 2005. Some of his songs touch on social justice and religious themes, which has drawn both support and criticism over time.
