Filipe Escandurras came up in São Paulo, where he started playing guitar and singing. His 2017 single 'Primeira Semana' got some attention, and he put out an album called 'Samba de Verdade' the next year. He's kept at it with records like 'No Tom da Bossa' and 'Samba pra Curtir'.
He works with a small band that includes Bruno Mandacaru on bass and Pedro Melo on drums. Some of his other songs people know are 'Cereja do Bolo' and 'Vou Te Amar de Novo', which he did with Xandy. There was some talk about another track called 'É Assim' a few years back, but that's mostly in the rearview now.
He's one of those Brazilian artists who sticks close to samba and bossa nova, the kind of stuff you'd hear from João Gilberto or Tom Jobim. It's not flashy, just straightforward singing and playing that fits right into that tradition without trying to reinvent it.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
