Final Child formed in Sweden around 2007 when Mattias Källblad started writing and recording songs at home. He was joined by drummer Erik Karlsson and bassist Andreas Bear. Their debut EP, 'All You Need Is Love,' came out in 2010.
Their first album, 'Happy Ending,' arrived in 2012. The title track became a hit in Sweden. The band's sound leans on Källblad's falsetto vocals and lyrics that often circle themes of love and loss.
In 2016, a performance at a Swedish festival drew protesters who claimed the music promoted self-harm. The band denied this, saying their work was meant to convey hope. They've released several other records, including 'Beyond the Dream' in 2016 and 'Echoes of the Night' in 2019.
