I should write a story about your old dead uncle:

You know he never got enough.

And i should write a story, your sister pushing daisies:

You know she taught me how to love.

And every time we laughed, we laughed on your behalf,

Waiting for the darkness to arrive.

And every time we tried, we can't imagine why

You never found a reason to survive,

But we're alive.

I should never've questioned the faces you were making:

They were so longing and so scared.

And i should never've questioned

The path that you were taking:

It was so dusty and so bare.

Wait until this moment comes alive.
